Sala Mpasu masks
The Smithsonian catalogs Sala Mpasu masks as articles in its Masks, Salampasu records.
Little known until well into the twentieth century, the Salampasu remained independent and remote, resisting incursions by the Lunda, Chokwe and Europeans. Their masks with prominent foreheads are similarly uninvestigated, though easily recognized.
