Microscope

The Smithsonian catalogs Microscope as microscope in its Science & Scientific Instruments records.

Compound monocular microscope probably made in England in the early years of the nineteenth century. It has a square stage that is moved up and down by rack-and-pinion, and so designed that a slide would be held between its top and bottom plates. There is also a sub-stage mirror, inclination joint just above the tri-leg base, and wooden case lined with velvet.
